Craft-made floor with artisan terracotta tiles…

Are you looking for some information for craft-made floors? Do you want to find out what it means “artisan floors” and what is the main element of this type of flooring?
The use of artisan floor is spreading increasingly nowadays, partly because of a greater interest in environmental and economic sustainability, involving primarily eco-compatibility and eco-sustainability.

The main element that today constitutes the craft-made floors (ie all those floors created with artisan items) is made from terracotta, the eco-friendly material par excellence: only clay is needed for its production in fact, together with water and fire.
From special quarries mainly located in Central Italy are extracted clays which are then selected and left to dry in the open air for about a month. At that point there shall be an initial selection, impurities are removed, clays are worked by hand (the terracotta tiles are created one by one) and the selected product goes into the oven to be baked.

Further selection of the most valuable material for the sale takes place after cooking.
The cotto obtained is then a completely natural product, and it is for this reason that today is used by virtually all architects and builders working in the field of “green” buildings.
The craft-made terracotta floors then have the further advantage of being used in any environment, from the rustic to the most elegant.

The versatility of this material makes it possible to match its raw form to wooden furniture to achieve a very rustic, cozy and warm room, and at the same time to accompany this product worked (think of polishing, enamelling etc.) with steel and glass, giving it a more formal impact although always very welcoming.
The final effect of an artisan floor depends also from method of application of the material: this is why it is always good to leave this work to professionals, who will also advise the most correct method of maintenance of the floor.

The handcrafted floors in terracotta, as well as being completely natural and combinational with any other type of material, also have another advantage, formed by the large number of available colors, ranging from yellow to shades of peach, pink, to red, to special colors such as white and black, very elegant ones.
