Working process to obtain the highest quality raw material

Here is the working process.
Follow each step that will give us the best raw material to be able to work by changing the shape, color, and the final treatment, and that will lead to the final step of processing.
Are you curious to know why the Dryland cotto is a very high quality product? Well, just continue reading.

The Dough

The long process, cured in every detail, is the secret of the “real cotto”, and it is a completely natural process.
Clay and water are the only elements of the first mixture that prepares the clay for a second process performed by the skilled hands of the kilnsman.

Worked as bread

The kilnsman usually dust a bit of sand on their desk, to prevent the dough from sticking, so that they can knead it in the shape of a trunk of bread until the mixture is smooth.
These “trunks” are then pressed exclusively by hand, one by one, into wooden molds that vary according to the shape and the size to get.

The drying

Drying time and process are critical for the correct drying of the artifacts.
These are laid on the ground, making them slip away from the mold very carefully because the bricks, still raw, won’t break.
Once arranged neatly on the floor, here trunks are drying; because of the natural drying, it requires a period ranging from 15 to 30 days, according to the sizes of artifacts and to and weather conditions.
